During Game 1, a male spectator caused a disturbance by running onto the court to take a selfie in front of San Antonio Spurs player Victor Wembanyama.
He was apparently subdued by security immediately, but a similar incident occurred recently in Japan as well.
At the Ichikawa City Zoo and Botanical Garden in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, a foreign national stormed the monkey enclosure where “Punch-kun” lives.
Both individuals were arrested, and after being detained, they were reportedly sentenced to a 300,000 yen fine.
This incident was widely reported in Japan, and since the perpetrators were foreigners, it sparked outrage among the Japanese public.
Furthermore, because of this criminal act, there is a fear that the viewing rules may change once again, and anger toward these miscreants is boiling over.
Above all, there were many voices expressing sympathy for the zoo staff who work so hard to run the facility.
